Carbon Steel

Many projects include components that are specified to ASTM A36: a structural steel specification. A36 references A307, standard specification for Carbon Steel Bolts and Studs, 60,000 psi Tensile Strength. Watson Metals meets the mechanical properties of Grade A and C. Commercial stocked lengths meet the coarse thread series of ANSI / ASME B1,1 and shall have a minimum Class 1A thread tolerance.

Electro-plated rods are plated to ASTM B633 and hot dip galvanized meet ASTM A153.

We advocate that all structural applications of threaded rods should be performed to engineered drawings. The following chart is a guide and uses a minimum safety factor of 5 and is for coarse thread rods.

Stainless Steel

Watson supplies commercial threaded rod to 304 & 316 SS with a minimum 1A thread. Watson can supply SS to ASTM A193 B1 Class 1 or Strain Hardened.

ELEVATED TEMPERATURE

ASTM A193 - B7 Alloy

This Alloy Steel is heat-treated to provide a unique combination of high strength and high temperature properties. Used extensively in the Power Generation and Petro-Chemical Industries, this is the ultimate in threaded rod. Tensile Strength is not less that 125,000 psi with a yield of not less than 105,000 psi. Can be provided plain or electro-plated zinc/yellow finish.

In addition to our extensive stock of fully threaded rods, we will quote you for U-Bolts, Anchor Bolts, Studs or Special to your print.
